Our Story
Sanyukt Mahila Mandal was established in 1975 by Freedom Fighter Sindhu Vitthal Bhuskute. Since last 50 years, the organisation has consistently worked towards the welfare of Women and Children. Need was felt for supporting women who were victims of domestic violence. Many women in India are, physically and mentally abused for dowry. Being refused entry in your own home at unsocial hours, being asked to leave the house along with the child can be very scary and unsafe. Some women leave their home for the fear of their lives. Some leave to protect their girl child from being killed, sometime before even being born.
Matrumandir (Literally means "temple of the mother") was envisaged by Freedom Fighter Sindhu Vitthal Bhuksute and built under the aegis of Sanyukt Mahila Mandal. It provides Safe Hostel facility for women in distress. It provides safe stay followed by counselling, free legal advice, healthcare check-ups, guidance and confidence. Organisation supports to file Police Complaint if required, help to start any enterprise, or to find jobs to the affected lady in distress. Some women need safe place to stay so that they can work respectably and support their family financially. It also provides marriage counselling to resolve marital discords. Sanyukt Mahila Mandal also conducts awareness campaigns among the community regarding Laws that are meant for protection of Women and Children
